About these projects
Between client commissions, I keep a continuous personal practice: small, self-directed still life studies where I test new ideas in lighting, composition, colour and texture. Many of the techniques in my client work start here.

Lipstick studies
A series treating the lipstick bullet as sculpture: luxury lipsticks paired with unexpected objects (an eggplant, a cocktail coupe, a silver cocktail pick threaded with crumbled colour) and macro studies of the bullet's texture and the swatch it leaves behind.

Citrus and light
Serums photographed among backlit citrus slices, using translucency and colour to suggest freshness and vitamin C without a single word of copy.

Light and texture
Studies in sculpted light and surface: a fragrance bottle caught in angled beams and coloured shadow, glossy formula swatches, water droplets on glass, and natural objects such as shells and quail eggs combined with jewellery.
